.booknuttery
You looked lost, madame.
.booknuttery (a spur of the moment name, you see.) is meant to revolve entirely, completely and wholeheartedly around books. Book collections, book links, bought books, sold books, good books, horrible, hellishly bad books. Its a veritable book nerd journal full of all the impossibly cheesy books one might ever want to, be forced to, or perhaps wisely shun -- to read.
Its not meant to be anything more then what it is -- what it is being a sort of catalog for all the books I have, am reading, am buying, am thinking about. Due to this rabid book obsession I figured I needed a diary, a log, a place in which to place all these things I'm reading -- the daily ramblings of some good (or terribly Not-Good) writer that I digest every single day.
And so that, my dears, is precisely what .booknuttery is for. (And please excuse the name.)
Further Updating: Currently, I'm using .booknuttery as a record of my possible success/shameful failure for NaNoWriMo.
Links of Some Interest, I Guess:

- Greyduck.net (a fellow wrimo.)
+more eventually.

I realize that the updates are getting a wee bit sparse, but its reaching the end of the road here. -- at least in terms of the Wrimo thing. The novel is not even half finished yet. In fact, its getting to epic-in-need-of-good-editing proportions.
Chapter Ten, 68 pages.
It amazes me because in Grade Five/Six it took me nearly 7 months to write a very, very bad novel of 83 pages. -- I'm almost there now, so its kind of amazing.

30,000 baby!
30, 449 to be exact. Chapter... Seven? Page 49.
I've lit some candles, restocked on snacks (a few pieces of cheese, I think I've picked up Alicia's eating habits.) and some juice. Its all very midnight daycare. My goal is to reach 32000 before heading downstairs, doing some laundry and watching a movie.
Insomnia, thou art the author's friend.

And, me, forgetting...
Here's a plot update -- (I know I've been pretty lax with the excerpts... but its complete crap and I'm terribly embarrassed.)
Ava Loams is the main character who's just coming into her power.
George is a ghost that was formerly part of a circle of people who randomly were drawn to each other. A few weeks ago one by one, they were all killed off mysteriously. As psychics they assumed they would be able to see the souls of each other, but there were no souls to be seen. George was killed but managed to escape -- Ava and Zahra believe it is imperative that Kel not reach him -- obviously, they think, there was something special about George's group and if they get a hold of George it might be catastrophic.
Zahra Nightshade: A medium for a great goddess, her price to pay for being too close to a deity was that she lost her speech, but gained telepathic skills. Now, the only time she talks aloud is when she is channelling Aysla, The Great Witch.
Aysla the Great Witch: A sorceress older than time and the one who originally brewed the potion that was meant to kill Kel -- but that was not ever finished because of Koloki, a selfish God, she is the goddess that Zahra channels. She also visits Ava, and in that process, kills her ... uh, "temporarily".
Kel: The Devourer of Souls, or the Soul Eater. He has been around since time began, and beyond that. He was subdued for a time before he was resurrected. He is now being controlled by an outside presence.
Thats about it so far. Cheesy, I suppose. Ah well. Hopefully the ol' editing process can fix up the plot a smidge too, maybe.

The ol' literary ball and chain
I'm almost at 25,000. If I can get up to 30 tonight -- woohoo! ..
The thing is the plot, and the voice of the main character.
Someone once told me I was telling too much instead of showing. The dialogue feels wooden because its being told.
The only remedy I suppose is to attempt to show things in different ways, instead of throwing in "it looked likes" and "it had a's" ... I don't know. I'll figure it out I suppose.
Now, onward.

22837 words, beginning of ch. 5, page 37.
Well, its getting there. I was going to try and write more, but my bed has actually -- and I swear on this -- dragged its fat ass up the stairs and is physically removing me from this computer.
Honestly.
PLUS, its one very peeved mattress. I think I'd be most wise to listen.
Nitey-nite.

I am an evil, rotten writer of filth.
Or if not filth, uhm, nothing.
I'm a writer of nothing, because nothing is what I've written. Nothing.
4 days of fabulous, guilty NOTHING.
But, it shall soon be remedied -- I'm at a whopping 21,035 -- it'll change tonight, no really. Along with my promise of doing the laundry and cleaning my room.
Even though its nearly 1 a.m. I'm sure I can be amazingly resourceful and finish it all by.. ... soon. Soon, it'll be done.
No, really.

15,846 words, baby!
Things are going fairly well.
So far Ava has met up with three other characters:
A badly-named nemesis known as the 'Soul Eater' (I know, I know. Shuddup. I'm going to try and remedy this evidence of my sucky character-naming skill.)
Zahra Nightshade, a mute medium for a goddess.
Aysla, a powerful sorceress as old as time.
Uhm, yeah.. it is a little generic, but I'm attempting to jumpstart it with originality any time now. No, really.
